Privacy policy

In short: your profile, your chats, your voice messages and your progress are stored on your phone only. There is no FirstHey account and no FirstHey server. To write a character's reply, the recent conversation is sent to an AI service, used to produce that reply, and not kept by us. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.

What stays on your phone

• Your profile: the name, age, hobbies, job, music and vibe you enter when you start.
• Your conversations: every message, voice message and reply, plus each character's state with you: interest, warnings, and whether they agreed to a call or a date.
• Your progress: level, badges and usage counts.
• Your choices: language, favourites, friend requests and blocked characters.

None of this is uploaded or synced. It lives in the app's own storage on the device, and your phone's backup is the only thing that copies it.

What is sent to the AI service, and why

Characters are written by language models reached through Pollinations. For each reply the app sends:

• the recent part of that conversation (up to the last twenty messages);
• the profile details above, so the character can talk to you rather than to anyone;
• the character's own description and how warm they currently are towards you.

Before a reply is written, your latest message is also checked by the same service to decide whether it is respectful, whether it asks for a call or a date, and whether it crosses a line (see respectful use). That check sends the last ten messages and returns only a verdict.

Voice messages are sent as audio to be turned into text, and a character's spoken lines are sent as text to be turned into speech. The recording itself is stored on your phone.

Requests carry no account and no device identifier of ours, and we keep no copy of them. The service processes them under its own policy. Do not put anything in a chat that you would not want an AI service to read.

Music search

If you search for a song to describe your taste, the words you type are sent to Apple's public iTunes search to list matching tracks. Nothing else is sent with them.

Purchases

Premium is sold as a subscription through Apple. The app uses RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active; it sees an anonymous identifier created on your device and the purchase, and never any part of your conversations. Your payment details go to Apple only.

Permissions

• Microphone: for voice messages and voice calls.
• Camera and photos: only if you choose to add a profile photo.
• Notifications: to tell you when a character accepted your request. They are scheduled on the phone itself.

Say no to any of them and the rest of the app keeps working.

Adults only

FirstHey AI is for people aged 18 and over. Age is confirmed when you start, and sexual or explicit conversation is not allowed with any character.

Deleting everything

Profile → Sign Out, or Profile → Security & Privacy → Delete Account, erases your profile, conversations, voice messages and progress from the phone. Deleting the app does the same. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, there is no copy left to ask us to remove.
